Barbecue-flavored beef on the stovetop.
Ingredients
- 3 lbs. Chuck Roast
- 1 lg. Onion
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 lg. Green pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 c. ketchup
- 2 Tbsp. Brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. Vinegar
- 1 tsp. Dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Chili powder
- 3 drops Hot Sauce
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. Allspice
Directions
- Place first five ingredients into large kettle with 1? quarts of water. Cover and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to simmer for 4 hours.
- Remove roast, save 1 1/2 cups of broth and veggies.
- Shred meat with a fork.
- Return broth, veggies and meat to kettle.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cook uncovered 1 hr.
- Add more water as needed. Serves 4-6.
