Paul's Red Pasta Sauce

A basic red pasta sauce. Can serve as a base for meat sauces, or be served as is.

Ingredients

  • 1 16 oz can hunts tomato sauce
  • 1 tbl olive oil
  • 2 cloves freshly diced garlic
  • 2 slices american cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2-3 tbl dried oregano leaves or to taste
  • 1 tbl dried basil leaves
  • 1/4 tea each dried sage and thyme
  • Adjust ingredients accordinly if you are using fresh herbs.
  • Heat the oil and garlic in a sauce pan until garlic is browned. Lower heat to low temperature. Add tomato sauce, stir until the oil and sauce are mixed well. Add the cheese, and stir well, until cheese is melted into the sauce. Then add herbs, salt, and pepper. Let simmer over low heat for about 1 hour, and serve over your favorite pasta.

Directions

  4. Add the cheese, and stir well, until cheese is melted into the sauce.
  5. Then add herbs, salt, and pepper.
  6. Let simmer over low heat for about 1 hour.
