My grandmother’s recipe. They are very crisp and garlicy.
Ingredients
- Enough small cucumbers to fill a quart jar
- 1 head of dill
- ? t pickling spice
- ? t alum
- ? dried chili pepper
- 1 T + pickling salt
- 2 cloves garlic
- ? t cream of tartar
Directions
- Put 1 head of dill in jar
- Fill with cukes
- Add all other ingredients
- Fill jar with boiling H2O
- Seal
- Turn jar gently until salt dissolves
- Ready to eat on the third day
